Boo님, 안 그래도 어제부터 뉴스, 인터넷 모두 북한 핵실험으로 도배가 되고 있어요.
예전에는 그런 뉴스 들어도 그냥 넘어가겠지 싶었는데, 이번에는 조금 불안하네요.
이번 주에 신랑이 일본 출장 가는데 비행기 타는 것도 은근히 걱정도 되구요.

미사일, 핵실험 등의 기사를 보면서도 나는 매번 별일이 아닌 듯이 여기는 것은 somebody else's president (이 표현은 NPR News 에서 어떤 미국인 청취자가 한 것임) 에 대한 불신이 앞서기 때문일 겁니다.
나는 2004 년 미국 대통령의 선거 결과가 핵실험, 미사일보다 더 무서웠거든요.

어...제가 그 글 읽어 본거 어떻게 아셨나요? ㅋㅋ 이번 선거는 민주당이 상하 양원 다 다수석을 차지 할거라는 분석이 많더군요. 그래서 북한 핵 실험은 '안보'를 다시 쟁점으로 부상시켜 공화당의 완패를 방지하는데, 혹은 공화당의 약진에 아주 좋은 재료로 쓰일 수 있다고 분석을 하는 사람도 있더군요. 그렇지만 북한 핵 실험은 부쉬 행정부의 외교정책 실패에 기인한다고 보는 사람이 더 많은 것으로 보여지고 결국은 공화당에게 악재로 작용하지 않을까 싶네요.
한국에서 북한 핵 실험을 보는 입장들은 너무나 큰 차이를 보이고 있기 때문에 저는 그 부분에 대해서는 아무런 평가도 내리지 못하겠더군요. 황석영씨 말대로 더 이상 강대국에 휘둘리지 말았으면 하는게 저의 바램이기도 하지만... 글쎄요... 북한이 그냥 순식간에 무너질 것 같기도 하고, 좀 말썽을 심하게 부릴 것 같기도 하고... | |
